Are these safe to use?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know much about proper leather boot care. My Thursday matte black captains (not RR) are my first pair of nice leather boots.

But does anyone have experience using either of these products for waterproofing? I know Thursday recommends cobblers choice, but I'd like to use what I have as long as it's safe and effective and won't damage the boot.
